TIP 364
Pre race day evening? Relax! All hard work is done, time for the grande dessert tomorrow! Enjoy the adventure!

Of course this is easier said than done. But really. Look at it this way. 95% of your work is done prior to your race. Have you been stressed, anxious or felt tense for all of your workouts? Guess not, right? Racing is of course something different than a couple of speed sets, but still it is just 5% of all the work you will do to cross the line.
You cannot escape it, it is just there. Nothing more. It won’t kill you, but can distract you from what you should do.
Feeling tense is is all part of the deal. You cannot escape it, it is just there. Nothing more. It won’t kill you, but can distract you from what you should do. Keep your focus on what you need to do and stick to your plan. Tension will stay, but won’t over run you when your keep your focus on the plan.
And if it becomes to much, than just acknowledge it is there, feel it and than try to look at it as if you were looking to yourself from a little distance. I could never stop laughing about it when I did. Then I took two big breathes and the tension got way less.
Happy racing!

What does race day morning look like? It really doesn’t matter, as long as it makes you feel happy and can get to the start line with little stress.
